Awesome Sight and Sound of a River in Flood in Waterfall Country
This is the awesome site and sound of the River (Afon) Mellte in Bannau Brycheiniog (Brecon Beacons) National Park in flood. This river is situated in the famous waterfall country on the southern edge of Bannau Brycheiniog (Brecon Beacons) National Park. There is so much water flowing over these famous waterfalls that even if you have walked this area yourself you may not recognise them.
In the video you’ll see Sgwd Clun Gwyn, Sgwd Clun Gwyn Isaf, Sgwd y Pannwr and Sgwd y Eira each one famous and spectacular in their own right. The video was taken during one of our adventure walks on 5th August 2013. We sue this area for many of our activities such as canyoning and caving and you can see why by the quality of the scenary. However there was rather too much water to do any canyoning with the river in this state.
Here’s a tweet from a group who came gorge walking with us this weekend. They kindly posted a short video on Vine which you can view here. We still have availability for family activity days including gorge walking during the Summer holidays if you’d like to experience this for yourself.
The Summer holidays are upon us and the usual question starts to rear its head “what can I do to entertain the kids” and more importantly what ideas are there for “things to do in the summer for teenagers,” which is often the more difficult task to accomplish. If you can achieve this then the 6 weeks of the holidays will fly by with no family breakdown or you needing to book yourself into rehab in September!
