River Mellte, Brecon Beacons in Flood, August 2013 – Awesome

Awesome Sight and Sound of a River in Flood in Waterfall Country

This is the awesome site and sound of the River (Afon) Mellte in Bannau Brycheiniog (Brecon Beacons) National Park in flood. This river is situated in the famous waterfall country on the southern edge of Bannau Brycheiniog (Brecon Beacons) National Park. There is so much water flowing over these famous waterfalls that even if you have walked this area yourself you may not recognise them.

In the video you’ll see Sgwd Clun Gwyn, Sgwd Clun Gwyn Isaf, Sgwd y Pannwr and Sgwd y Eira each one famous and spectacular in their own right. The video was taken during one of our adventure walks on 5th August 2013. We sue this area for many of our activities such as canyoning and caving and you can see why by the quality of the scenary. However there was rather too much water to do any canyoning with the river in this state.
