What a fantastic week – I’ve been aiming to do this for a couple of years after hearing about it from a friend and at last this year we managed it. We were a large group of friends – 13 of us of varying ages from 11 to 53 and we all had a total blast. The team were amazing – from the daily leaders, to the lovely staff back at the hostel and Tudor back at the office for sorting it all out for us. I personally pushed myself well out of my comfort zone by abseiling and jumping into ravines etc etc but at no point did I feel under pressure to do any of the activities – they are just great at providing gentle encouragement. It is extremely well run, the staff are all just lovely and it was an experience of a lifetime – thank you all so much. – M Sanchez 2020

We have had a fantastic week. Everything was as expected and we found all the COTW staff friendly and helpful.  The girls at Merlins were very accommodating and again friendly – all in these tricky times. We have all enjoyed the activities immensely. A great week and just the tonic – We will recommend to others. – S Pemberton 2020

Gorge Walking

The best way of describing our activity is a river adventure . With our guides, you travel through a steep sided gorge following the course of the river by various ways and means. This can involve sliding down rapids, swimming down rapids, floating down fast flowing chutes and waves, climbing beside waterfalls and of course jumping off those adrenalin pumping 20ft ledges into deep pool.

Most of the time you’ll be amazed by the stunning views as a new vista appears around every corner or over the next brow of the hill. Our mountain guides have extensive local knowledge so will be explaining about mans influence through the ages on the landscape, it geology and geography, flora and fauna.

rock climbing

Rock Climbing UK

Climbing is a rock activity. What goes up must come down – well firmly attached to a rope anyway. A great way of seeing the majestic Brecon Beacons National Park scenery & that of the Gower- even hanging upside down. Rock climbing in Wales is about putting on a climbing harness and enjoying yourself in the outdoors on boulders and outcrops, in old quarries and sea cliffs and remote mountain crags.

Accommodation

You will stay at our legendary Merlins or similar (Subject to availability). This remains one of our most popular venues for our groups who choose stay due to its friendly, lively and hospitable atmosphere. You are guaranteed a warm welcome as you will be met by our staff. The accommodation has a bar which stays open late for residents, is situated in a lively town 20 minutes off the M4 at Swansea and just on the southern edge of the Brecon Beacons. Merlins has 9 en-suite rooms containing bunkbeds.

Food

All included so you don’t have to worry about finding anywhere for your group to eat.
