We will design the programme to suit your age and physical ability to ensure you get the best family experience possible. Below is an example of the type of week that we can deliver for you. We had a great time away. The kids were able to push themselves on a higher level of difficulty than they’ve previously experienced. Ed was a great group leader and explained things clearly and gave gentle encouragement at times. His level of knowledge and experience shone through in conversations. He was also happy to answer our questions. It was really helpful getting a summary and location pin ready for the next day. The other staff Graham, Phil, Beth and Kath were also good and informative. You will stay at our very own Merlins. This remains one of our most popular venues for our family groups. A great base for your family adventure activity holiday.

Merlins has 9 rooms containing bunk-beds. Each room has en-suite facilities.

Activities

You can change these activities if they don't suit your requirements. For instance you can substitute quad biking with climbing, caving, paintballing or clay pigeon shooting to name but a few. Please note if you decide to change the choice of activities it may impact price and transport options.

Canoeing

Our canoeing sessions are based in South Wales, 25 minutes north of Swansea and 45 minutes west of Cardiff. We use a number of rivers, canals and lakes in the area. It is an fantastic way of viewing the Welsh countryside.We can also arrange canoeing trips to other parts of the UK for fun or training purposes.

Caving

Our staff ensure you will have a great day. The Brecon Beacons National Park has some fantastic caving, some of the best in the UK. Visit areas rarely seen by others in this awesome underground world. If you are visiting the area then caving is definitely an activity to experience.

Gorge Walking

The best way of describing our activity is a river adventure . With our guides, you travel through a steep sided gorge following the course of the river by various ways and means. This can involve sliding down rapids, swimming down rapids, floating down fast flowing chutes and waves, climbing beside waterfalls and of course jumping off those adrenalin pumping 20ft ledges into deep pool.

Kayaking

No previous experience is required as we will choose a venue to suit your requirements and level of experience. You can start as young as 8 or 9 years old. We not only run sessions for those who just want an enjoyable funday out but also training and assessment days for those looking to improve their skills and coaching awards. This is a great group activity. We use a number of rivers, canals and lakes in the area.

Mountain Walks

You will be guided by our qualified instructors and can either just enjoy the scenery or pick up some mountain skills such as navigation and map reading. Most of the time you’ll be amazed by the stunning views as a new vista appears around every corner or over the next brow of the hill. Our mountain guides have extensive local knowledge so will be explaining about mans influence through the ages on the landscape, it geology and geography, flora and fauna.

Rock Climbing UK

Climbing is a rock activity. What goes up must come down – well firmly attached to a rope anyway. A great way of seeing the majestic Brecon Beacons National Park scenery & that of the Gower- even hanging upside down. Rock climbing in Wales is about putting on a climbing harness and enjoying yourself in the outdoors on boulders and outcrops, in old quarries and sea cliffs and remote mountain crags.

Wet and Wild

This is a great fun group day where you get to sample not just one activity but three! Kayaking, canoeing and raft building are all available. You get the opportunity with our qualified instructors to learn about each discipline and why not finish with a raft race – a great group day.

Accommodation

You will stay at our legendary Merlins or similar (Subject to availability). This remains one of our most popular venues for our groups who choose stay due to its friendly, lively and hospitable atmosphere. You are guaranteed a warm welcome as you will be met by our staff. The accommodation has a bar which stays open late for residents, is situated in a lively town 20 minutes off the M4 at Swansea and just on the southern edge of the Brecon Beacons. Merlins has 9 en-suite rooms containing bunkbeds.

Food

All included so you don’t have to worry about finding anywhere for your group to eat.

Transport

To and from activity venues. It’s difficult enough in an unfamiliar place to find a venue with a map or sat nav when you have a group of loud lads in the car. Therefore this option makes sense.
