What is Fly Fishing?
Fly fishing is one of the most relaxing activities you can participate in. It is also a fantastic way of seeing and experiencing some of Wales’ best scenery. Everyone knows what fishing is but fly fishing, is an involves tying a lure or imitation fly to a line and casting it over the a river, pool or lake imitating the action of the fly in order to attract the fish.
It’s an art form when done properly. Skills such as reading the river, understanding the behaviour the fish and having a good casting technique are all essentials
Who Can Do Fly Fishing ?
Anyone can have a go from novices to those looking for expert tuition or someone just looking for a different way to enjoy the Welsh countryside.
Where Can I do Fly Fishing ?
We use all the main rivers in Wales including the Rivers Neath, Tawe, Wye, Severn, Usk and others. We are also lucky enough to have some wonderful upland reservoirs such as the Usk, Ystradfellte and Beacons.
Duration/Length of the Fly Fishing session?
This is variable depending on the size, nature of the group, nature of the event and the prevailing weather conditions on the day. A session can be tailored to meet your groups requirements. A session can be anything from 2 to 3 hours up to 2 days.
When can I do Fly Fishing?
The game fishing season is March to October.

What will I have to Wear for my Fly Fishing Session?
A full kit list will be issued upon booking however we will supply you with the necessary fishing tackle. It is only your personal clothing you will need to consider.
Good Combinations of Activities
Fly fishing is suitable for combination with other activities for weekends or longer duration visits. It can be combined with any of the range of activities available whether it be canyoning, gorge walking, climbing, quad biking, paintball and clays. See also our adventure days where in a single day you can sample climbing and another activity such as gorge walking and/or caving.
Can I Use a Camera?
Yes you can as there will be an opportunity to take.
Take Away a Video or Photos
We can arrange for a professional photographer to follow you fly fishing. The photos can be put onto disc for you to take away before the end of your stay. Please contact us for more details.
In certain circumstances we can arrange for your group to filmed but this is only by prior arrangement.
