Bushcraft and Survival

Survival skills are skills that will help you to survive in dangerous situations or in dangerous places such as jungles and deserts. Skills such as firelighting, finding and making a shelter are usual areas to cover.

This course will raise your awareness of how reliant we are on modern conviences such as a kettle. This introductory activity will provide you with basic bushcraft survival skills.

Canoeing

Our canoeing sessions are based in South Wales, 25 minutes north of Swansea and 45 minutes west of Cardiff. We use a number of rivers, canals and lakes in the area. It is an fantastic way of viewing the Welsh countryside.We can also arrange canoeing trips to other parts of the UK for fun or training purposes.

Canyoning

Call of the Wild’s Adventure Britain are the leading provider of Canyoning in the UK. Really test yourself by white water rafting without the raft! A high adrenaline day and one not to be missed. The Lonely Planet Travel Guide describing it as a must do activity being up there with the best wet and wild experiences in the world!

Caving

Our staff ensure you will have a great day. The Brecon Beacons National Park has some fantastic caving, some of the best in the UK. Visit areas rarely seen by others in this awesome underground world. If you are visiting the area then caving is definitely an activity to experience.

Clay Pigeon Shooting

Clay pigeon shooting involves clay circular targets, known as clay pigeons being catapulted into the air to imitate pigeons, or shot along the ground, to imitate rabbits, by ‘traps’, small machines that propel the clays at speed. Competitors then attempt to shoot the clays pigeons using shotguns. This is a great group activity.

Gorge Walking

The best way of describing our activity is a river adventure . With our guides, you travel through a steep sided gorge following the course of the river by various ways and means. This can involve sliding down rapids, swimming down rapids, floating down fast flowing chutes and waves, climbing beside waterfalls and of course jumping off those adrenalin pumping 20ft ledges into deep pool.

Kayaking

No previous experience is required as we will choose a venue to suit your requirements and level of experience. You can start as young as 8 or 9 years old. We not only run sessions for those who just want an enjoyable funday out but also training and assessment days for those looking to improve their skills and coaching awards. This is a great group activity. We use a number of rivers, canals and lakes in the area.

Mountain Biking

The best way of describing mountain biking is a bit like skiing on a bike both downhill and cross-country but without the snow. Off-road cycling on purpose designed bikes. You’ll discover why this sport has become so popular, particularly mountain biking in Wales, over the last few years – it’s the adrenaline rush and being in the great outdoors in some of the most spectacular scenery in the UK

Paintballing

Ever fancy yourself as that all action hero – well here’s your chance to prove what you’ve been saying for years. Equipped with full face mask, overalls and most importantly the latest paintball guns and pellets you’re away (mostly repainting the forest). Play out a number of scenarios during the day in a wonderful 30 acre natural woodland setting.

Quad Biking

Not restricted to a single track you ride through woodland, over mountain and rough terrain with water thrown in for good measure taking in the challenges en route. The activity also usually involves an archery session.

Rock Climbing UK

Climbing is a rock activity. What goes up must come down – well firmly attached to a rope anyway. A great way of seeing the majestic Brecon Beacons National Park scenery & that of the Gower- even hanging upside down. Rock climbing in Wales is about putting on a climbing harness and enjoying yourself in the outdoors on boulders and outcrops, in old quarries and sea cliffs and remote mountain crags.

Surfing in Wales

You will be given surfing lessons by our qualified instructors in the art of surfing. The surf school will introduce you to the techniques needed to sit, kneel and stand on the board. By the end of the session the aim is to get you standing on the board and riding those waves

Wet and Wild

This is a great fun group day where you get to sample not just one activity but three! Kayaking, canoeing and raft building are all available. You get the opportunity with our qualified instructors to learn about each discipline and why not finish with a raft race – a great group day.

Whisky Distillery Tour

Your guide will take you through the malt whisky production process. They will describe the stills and distillation process used by Scottish, Irish and Welsh distillers and learn why this particular process is so unique. Learn about different types of whisky from malts, Bourbons and Tennessee whiskies. Have some fun and games nosing and tasting before viewing the exhibition area and sampling more products.
