What’s the Difference Between Gorge Walking and Canyoning?

Is gorge walking the same as canyoning?
Gorge Walking is our family-friendly version of canyoning, making it the perfect introduction to exploring the stunning river gorges of Bannau Brycheiniog (Brecon Beacons National Park). You’ll scramble over rocks, climb through flowing water, wade through rivers, tackle natural obstacles and splash into crystal-clear pools—all at a pace that’s suitable for families, beginners and anyone looking for an exciting outdoor adventure.
Canyoning, on the other hand, is our more adrenaline-fuelled experience and is recommended for participants aged 16 and over. It follows a similar route through spectacular gorges but introduces bigger challenges, including higher jumps into deep pools (all optional where possible) ideal for thrill-seekers looking to push themselves.
Whichever experience you choose, you’ll be guided by our highly experienced instructors, who ensure every activity is both safe and unforgettable. We provide all the specialist equipment—you just need to bring your sense of adventure.
